Working for the Main Contractor, Stonehouse Consultants successfully secured this 2 stage negotiated tender with the client’s professional team and provided both project management and quantity surveying services from contract commencement to completion.

The ‘mock’ two storey Queen Anne style house, basement garage, orangery, conservatory, staff quarters, estate office, indoor swimming pool, triple garage & workshop were constructed on the site of a former equestrian centre.  As part of the planning consent the project incorporated numerous eco / environmental considerations such as ground source heating, water source heating involving the construction of a small lake, solar & photo voltaic panels, rainwater harvesting, grey water recycling and flow restrictors on sanitaryware.

In conjunction with the Client’s interior designer ‘high end’ bespoke finishes were procured and installed including an oak panelled library, oak staircase, fitted kitchen, fitted oak bedroom wardrobes, Villeroy & Bosch sanitary ware a mixture of oak, York Stone & Spanish ceramic flooring, detailed ornate plaster cornices / ceiling roses, designer kitchen units & ornate reproduction chandelier lighting.

External works involved the creation of hard & soft landscaping, construction of an estate access road with substantial quantities of earthwork re-modelling and mature tree planting undertaken across the site to screen the completed house from public view, the overall project being completed within 16 months in line with the contract programme.
