Following a fire the cottage was reduced to the skeleton of its external & internal walls, the damage suffered required that the property be completely re-built to replicate its original 17th century character and to the exacting standards of listed building control and English Heritage.  This included the repair and construction of solid Cotswold stone internal & external walls, replacement metal casement windows, new roof timbers, new thatched roof coverings, injection dpc, re-claimed timber & stone floor finishes and horsehair & lime plaster to the internal walls employing the services of artisan craftsmen.

The property was re-wired and re-plumbed with new reproduction sanitaryware & fittings, farmhouse kitchen and the re-instatement of damaged external works including dry stone walling and flag stone paviours.
